The Conference venue
The ICEAF VIII 2025 will be held at the lovely Kalamata Hotel Elite, which is conveniently located in Messinian Bay near the foot of Mountain Taygetos and just a short distance from the beach. The hotel has a big swimming pool, and its restaurant, Ef Zin, serves delicious Greek and international food made from fresh, local ingredients on a charming outdoor terrace. The hotel rooms are modern and stylish, with amenities like a flat-screen TV, hairdryer, safe, and minibar. It’s also close to Kalamata’s commercial center, only 4 km away, where you can find plenty of restaurants, cafes, bars, and shops, making it a great choice for both tourists and business travelers.
Elite Blue Conference Centre, the spacious and luxurious conference centre of Messinia, is part of Elite City Resort at Kalamata. Elite Blue Conference Centre is located in a separate area, directly across from the main building, Elite City Hotel. It consists of eight (8) conference rooms, interconnected, which can accommodate from twenty (20) up to fifteen hundred (1500) people, in a total area of five thousand (5000) square meters. There modern premises can be adapted on particular needs, corresponding to the recent needs of conferences and are equipped with up to date technological facilities.

How to reach the venue
There are three options for travelling to the conference venue:
- By Air: Kalamata Airport (KLX) is well-connected to major cities, including Athens, Thessaloniki, Munich, Stockholm, Moscow, Zurich, Amsterdam, Prague, London, Milan, Vienna, and Manchester, through regular and charter flights. The airport is conveniently located just a 15-minute drive (approximately 13 kilometers) from both the conference venue and the city center.
- By Car: Kalamata is accessible by highway from Athens and Thessaloniki via the ‘Eastern Peloponnese Highway,’ ‘Olympia Road,’ and ‘Aegean Highway.’ The distance from Athens is approximately 239 kilometers, and the journey typically takes around 2 hours and 10 minutes by car. Landing on Athens International airport you can find a wide variety of options regarding ground transportation so to reach Kalamata. There is a distance of 238.6 km between Athens and Kalamata. This equates to approximately 2.5 hours driving time. Apparently travelling by bus takes a little longer due to the various stops en route.
- By Bus: Specifically Athens International airport is directly connected to Κifissos bus station, the busiest and the largest intercity bus terminal in Athens which serves numerous routes to Peloponnese.
One way to access the Κifissos bus station is by city bus route (https://www.athensairportbus.com/en/timetable/x95airporttoathensdowntown.html) X93 which departs from the arrivals level of Athens airport, between exits 4 and 5 leads you to Kifissos bus station.
Alternatively the Proastiakos suburban railway which lies beside the Athens Airport terminal connects the airport to Kifissos Bus station via correspondence. You should depart the above ground suburban railway train once you reach Doukissis Plakentias station that is on Metro line 3 (Blue Line) and has connections to Metro Trains. Metro Line 3 (Blue Line) heads you directly to Eleonas Metro station (Blue Line) where you connect with the bus no 52 leads you to Kifissos Terminal.
