A permanent objective of the ICEAF Conference series is to ensure increased scientific merit and reward excellence of the presented works. In this context, at the 8th International Conference of Engineering Against Failure (ICEAF VIII), except for the oral presentations, approximately 40 works will be part of the “Poster Session and Competition”.

All works included in the Poster Session will be of high scientific quality and technological merit, suitable to stimulate fruitful discussions with their authors. Obviously, the poster presentations will be entitled to be submitted for publication in both the Conference Proceedings and the Special Issues, which will include extended versions of selected papers presented at the Conference, following always a peer-review process.

The posters will be displayed for all days of the conference in a prominent area of the venue, ensuring high visibility. In addition, a dedicated session with a poster tour will be included in the conference agenda, on the afternoon of DAY 3 (Tuesday, 24th of June).

Moreover, a Competition for the “Best Poster Presentation Award” will take place. An Evaluation Committee will be appointed involving members of the International Scientific Committee of the conference. The winner of the Best Poster Award will be announced during the closing ceremony of the conference on Wednesday, the 26th of June.

The FEMS European Journal of Materials (EJM) will proudly awards a fee waiver for publication to the best poster presentation. As a premier open-access platform for showcasing advancements in materials science and engineering, EJM is published by Taylor & Francis on behalf of the Federation of European Materials Societies (FEMS) and is indexed in the DOAJ and Scopus. Recently, it achieved its first CiteScore of 2.5, with the CiteScoreTracker 2024 now at 4.5. More details about the prizes will be announced soon.

Further information about the “Terms and Conditions” of the poster presentations, as well as the competition award, will be communicated to the corresponding authors of the selected works.
